I feel it would be much easier to grasp the prophetic realm by using library as an analogy. I am not saying the prophetic realm is indeed a library. No, it is a spiritual reality. I am only using this analogy to make it easier to explain and understand the nature of the prophetic realm and the things that goes on in it—this includes prophetic experiences, prophetic gifts, prophetic ministry or offices, prophetic dimensions, maturity in the prophetic, and etc.
Alright, so let's picture the prophetic as a library. This library is filled with books and each books either contain prophetic experiences, prophetic word, or knowledge about the past, present and future. The Spirit of Truth, who was sent to guide us into all truths is more like the librarian or some kind of AI system that helps you in navigating through the library. I am not trying to imply the Holy Spirit is impersonal, I am only trying to create an analogy that would enable me explain certain things.
"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future." (John 16:13).
There is the Spirit of Truth to guide you through this realm where lies all the knowledge of God. He could take you to a book and show you the future, he could lead you to another book where you get specific words from God, or he could take you to a book where you would be caught up in some vision or experience. The realm of the prophetic is a literal location in the spirit. You can close your eyes, focus on entering into that realm, rest on the Spirit to lead you into it, and wait on the Lord. Then you will just find yourself caught up in that realm, because it is very real.
Again, I am not saying it looks like a liberal, it is just spirit. It's substance is spirit, and once you are in that realm you will know. You will feel being pulled into visions, knowledge or experiences. It's all spirit in substance. The reason I am using this library analogy is because once you understand that it is like a library you will be able to learn how to navigate. So many Christians do not know that you can navigate the realm of the prophetic. They think once you enter you will just have to take whatever you stumble on.
No, you don't have to take whatever you stumble on and leave that way. You can still navigate and explore that realm. You can search for whatever knowledge you want, whether past, present or future. You can enter into God's mind and pick a prophetic word. And you can wait on God to lead you into a prophetic experience. Yes, sometimes the Lord can ask you to come wait for him in the realm of the prophetic. That was were John was waiting when he was taken to see the events in the book of revelation.
"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet," (Rev 1:10).
The realm of the prophetic is neither in heaven or on earth. It is in God; we are called to exist in God with all the members of the Godhead. The truth is that we have become members of a member (Christ) of the Godhead, as such we exist where the Godhead have been existing before anything was created. This realm is beyond time, because time too was created. So we can be in heaven, and by the Spirit enter into the realm of the prophetic, or we can be on earth and enter into the realm of the prophetic by the Spirit.
The realm of the prophetic is in God, that is why when you want to enter into that realm you focus on God until you penetrate into it in God. Well, this post is just an introduction to the series. There is so much to be discussed on this series, so just try to follow.
